Museum of Modern Art - Museion in Bolzano
The Museion was founded 1985 as a museum for modern art. At the beginning, the new museum followed a regional direction: The first goals were the support and documentation of visual arts in Tyrol. At the beginning of the 90's the activity extended to a comparison of German and Italian art. The museum was given the new name "Museion" in 1991. The name mirrors a turning to modern art and interdisciplinary tendencies.
